Educational Philosophy

All students possess the capability to learn if given the opportunity. Central to this theme, is the unification of leadership mindsets and mutual belief that our students are bright, energetic, and capable of achieving any and all things they desire.

Leaders who are committed to education reform, continual evaluation of academic achievement standards, being role models, and willing to go the extra mile are pivotal in en
suring students are prepared academically and technologically for the future. 

Academic achievement is bound to increase through synergistic hard work and unified focus.

Leadership Competencies

With over 10 years' experience in the private, corporate sector as well as 24 years experience with New York City Department of Education, my leadership abilities have proven a major asset. I have successfully exposed a diverse base of students, staff, and administrators to the dynamics and intricacies of both sectors and its impact on the educational system, through rigorous professional development; learning enrichment opportunities; building of partnerships, and instituting community alliances. 

In promoting and cultivating a culture of excellence, I spearheaded the School Leadership Team (SLT) as Chairperson from 1998 to present, defining new grounds in educational leadership and serving as an agent of change. I worked, collaboratively, as Writer and Facilitator of the Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) for Tilden High School which resulted as a model plan for Region 6 for the past 7 years. Due to my avid leadership abilities in these capacities, I was selected as Site Supervisor of Tilden High School’s Summer School Program in 2006 in which I oversaw 1500 students and 20 teachers. Both my instructional and leadership adeptness afforded me the opportunity to launch the PM School Program in 2007. Since 2008, I've worked closely with the UFT Staff Developer, substantially and notably raising the level of academic excellence while simultaneously improving student learning school wide.

In my current role as Assistant Principal of Organization and Data-Inquiry Specialist, working closely alongside the Principal, faculty, administrators and staff,  great strides and a plethora of successes are continuing as our mutual efforts provide our students with the nurturing and academic development they will need to be successful in college or whatever their future endeavor may entail.
